Equestrian Canaada Certified Competition Coach
Marta grew up in the UBC area with Southlands just a stone's throw away. It was only when she was 12 years old did the years of begging pay off, when her parents were able to enroll her in weekly lessons at Maynard's Pony Meadows. A weekly group lesson would not cut it for long, so Marta took matters into her own hands, got a club membership, and began leasing a horse and riding full time under the guidance of Pippa Emrick. She worked hard for many years, picking up mucking jobs, grooming jobs, and teaching camps and birthday parties, which eventually turned into teaching lessons. Based in the Southlands area of Vancouver, Marta has been training horses and riders to bring out the best in each other for the last 10 years. No goal is too big or small! Marta believes in building a solid foundation and equipping her riders with tools they can access in any given situation. She is passionate about continuing to develop her own skills so she may pass them on to her students. Marta is currently developing her own young warmblood gelding, under the guidance of Laura Balisky, in the jumpers, as well as Alison Martin, in dressage. She also regularly participates in clinics with top riders.
